Method
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Lightly coat a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil. Work the pizza dough with your hands to form a pizza about 10 inches in diameter. Transfer to pan lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl mix together softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until completely smooth and lump-free.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over pizza dough evenly. Leave about ¾-1 inch of a border around the edges for proper crust formation.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella first, then layer Monterey Jack cheese evenly. Top with jalapeño slices, distributing evenly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly with lightly browned spots. Let cool for 2-3 minutes, add chives if using, then slice and serve.
Notes
Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy spreading. Remove jalapeño seeds for mild heat, leave seeds for medium to hot heat. Fresh jalapeños work best compared to canned. Serves 4 as main dish or 6-8 as appetizer.
