Hot Honey Flatbread Pizza

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup honey clover or wildflower preferred
  • 1 tsp hot sauce Frank's or Cholula
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes adjust for taste preference
  • 2 pieces garlic-infused flatbreads
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce tomato-based
  • 2 cups low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 12 slices pepperoni or as preferred
  • 2 tbsp black olives sliced, optional
  • 1 piece fresh jalapeño thinly sliced, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Place an empty baking sheet inside to heat up for crispy crust.
  2. In a small bowl, combine honey, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes. Microwave for 15-20 seconds until warm, stir well, then set aside to cool for 5 minutes.
  3. If using fresh flatbreads, pre-bake for 2-3 minutes. Remove and let cool for 1 minute.
  4. Spread pizza sauce evenly over flatbreads, leaving a ½-inch border. Use about 2-3 tablespoons per flatbread.
  5. Add shredded mozzarella in an even layer, then arrange pepperoni slices on top. Place extra cheese pieces over pepperoni to prevent curling.
  6. Add optional jalapeños and black olives if using. Place jalapeños under some cheese to prevent burning.
  7. Carefully remove hot baking sheet from oven and place assembled pizzas on it. Return to oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden-brown and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with prepared hot honey mixture. Let rest 2 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Pre-bake flatbread for 2-3 minutes before adding toppings to prevent soggy crust. Don't drizzle hot honey before baking as it can burn. Use lowest oven rack for crispiest results.
